Not every day at work starts with launching a new European collaboration!

Last week, we proudly kicked off the EU-funded project GBR-ACT – Green Biorefineries as Catalysts for Agroecological Transitions and Circular Value Chains, a new transnational project funded under the AGROECOLOGY Partnership.

GBR-ACT aims to accelerate the agroecological transition in Europe by exploring how Green Biorefineries can create new circular value chains based on grassland biomass. By linking agriculture with feed, food, bioenergy, biofertilizers, and biomaterials, the project will develop innovative business models, assess environmental and socio-economic impacts, and create deployment strategies to support large-scale adoption across Europe. Stakeholder engagement and co-creation will be at the heart of GBR-ACT, ensuring that solutions are developed together with farmers, industry actors, policymakers, and other key stakeholders.

At Chalmers Industriteknik, we are proud to coordinate this international consortium of leading research and innovation organizations from across Europe. Additionally, we lead the communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities, ensuring that project results reach stakeholders, policymakers, industry, and the research community. We also contribute our expertise in circular business models and sustainable value chain development. Over the next three years, we look forward to collaborating with partners and other stakeholders to help make agroecological transitions economically viable, scalable, and impactful.

Stay tuned! We will soon launch the project website and share more information about project activities, stakeholder engagement opportunities, events, publications, and results.
