ProSAFe – Personal Protection Against Fall Injuries to enhance quality of life for elderly

Safe Mobility
In the spirit of Vision Zero, ProSAFe will design, produce, test and evaluate aesthetically pleasing fall injury preventive clothing with optimized performance, comfort and price.

Sweden’s seniors are becoming healthier and more mobile. Since 1997, it has become twice as common among people 80+ to die as a result of fall accidents. Between 2018 and 2028, the number of people in the age group 80 years and older is predicted to increase by 50%. Fall accidents cause great suffering and often entail a permanent need for care for the victims. n addition, fear of falling can be restricting. Fall accidents already cost the public sector more than twice as much as all road traffic accidents. Now it is necessary to reverse the trend and reduce fall injuries.
