ENTRANCE – a Horizon Europe project

Energy
Built Environment
CIT Renergy is one of the partners in the Horizon Europe project ENTRANCE: Enabling smart-grid ready buildings through integrated solutions and digital technologies.

The energy and building sectors play a crucial role in Europe’s environmental and energy policies. As the energy transition accelerates, buildings are increasingly recognized as key players due to their potential to adopt smart management systems and advanced control strategies.

ENTRANCE: Enabling smart-grid ready buildings through integrated solutions and digital technologies project aims to develop and showcase innovative solutions that integrate buildings into the energy system while actively engaging end-users in the energy market.

Our Approach

ENTRANCE is developing and demonstrating innovative solutions that make buildings smart-grid-ready and decarbonized by integrating:

– Energy efficiency and flexibility
– On-site renewables and mobility solutions
– User empowerment and engagement
– Interoperability with district heating and electricity grids

To validate its impact, ENTRANCE will implement its solutions in six demonstration sites across different European regions, ensuring adaptability to diverse climates and market conditions.

ENTRANCE Principles

Our approach is built on four key pillars that drive innovation and sustainability:

– Technology: Innovative technologies for smart grid integration
– Digitalization: Digital solutions for efficient energy management
– User engagement: Empowering end-users in the energy market
– Performance driven economics: Creating value for energy sector stakeholders
