Constructivate: Then we close the loop for packaging plastic from construction products

Of course it is possible to extend the life of packaging plastic from construction products! PolyPlank have recently made a composite profile for noise board based on, among other things, recycled plastic film in polyethylene. Ragn-Sells has collected this LDPE plastic film from various construction projects that NCC has around Gothenburg.

The research project Constructivate, led by Max Björkman at Chalmers Industriteknik, aims to increase the recycling of construction and demolition waste. A waste product that has been identified as extra challenging is plastic ─ and although the construction industry is one of the sectors that use the most plastic ─ it is precisely where the material recycling is at its lowest.
