Business Developer Electronics

The Graphene Flagship* has eight Business Developers covering different technology areas. Sophie Charpentier at Chalmers Industriteknik is responsible for the Electronics Area.

This task is set to establish a pan-European network of Business Developers (BDs) working closely with partners to identify innovation opportunities and to coach these people trying to realize them in commercial form. The ultimate goal of introducing a set of professionals, dedicated to develop collaborations with industry players, is to facilitate and maximize the impact of Graphene Flagship research into European economy.

“The business developers are the key players in creating the network connecting our research efforts to industry. Their task ranges from scouting the recipients for our technologies to being messengers from industry when it comes to industry trends, needs and roadmaps. They arrange workshops and help teams to create business models.” Kari Hjelt – Head of Innovation

Based at Chalmers Industriteknik, Sophie Charpentier is the business developer for electronics applications for the Graphene Flagship. She holds a PhD in Physics (material science and micro- nano-fabrication) and 4 years researcher experience from Chalmers University of Technology, focusing on nanodevices and 2D materials. She has several years of experience in graphene innovation support, participating in and managing collaborative projects where academics and industrial partners develop products using graphene.
