Michael Persson
Michael is passionate about creating efficient, sustainable and safe products and processes that lead to both corporate benefit and societal benefit. If sustainability and safety govern the entire development chain from idea to finished process and product, it is a way to find the great innovations with a long service life. Michael been doing research in the area of ceramic materials, mainly processes to produce materials and components. He worked for over 30 years at Nouryon (AkzoNobel) in various management positions in R&D and the last 8 years as innovation manager. Michael has worked with silica nanoparticles and other chemicals in various applications, for example for the foundry and paper industry. In his role as innovation manager, Michael focused on external collaborations (institutes, universities, startups) and idea management systems. Participated in major collaborative projects in both Sweden and Europe. In recent years, there has been a lot of focus on nanosafety and sustainable safe materials (“Safe-by-Design”). MSc in Chemical Engineering and PhD in material science from Chalmers, MBA from School of Business, Economics and Law University of Gothenburg, 9 years as adjunct.
