Elis has a background as a researcher and project manager in ceramic manufacturing where he has worked developing processing and forming methods for ceramic components. He has a wide experience in setting up and working with collaborative research within a wide area of technology. As a CFO of Swerea, an institute for material and manufacturing research (now a part of RISE) he created strategies for national and international collaborations where research results were transferred to industry. He took part in building of a Technology Transfer Office for RISE in order to support and efficiently manage inventions within RISE.
