We are looking for a scientific programmer

 To accelerate our R&I activities in the field of urban Digital Twins we are looking for a scientific programmer.

At Chalmers Industriteknik, about 100 employees with a strong technical background work in small and large development, innovation, and collaboration projects for a more sustainable future. Our assignments are mainly in the areas of energy, materials, artificial intelligence, and circular economy. As member of the Applied AI group, you will be part of a highly prioritized, fast growing focus area within Chalmers Industriteknik tasked with helping industry and research with different AI and software challenges. About the job
Together with our partners at the Digital Twin Cities Centre (DTCC) at Chalmers University you will contribute to the development of the digital twin platform that is created as an open, distributed, heterogeneous, and interoperable ecosystem of data management, simulation, and visualization software components. You will work closely with different DTCC researchers and help to implement a variety of research projects at DTCC. Your main duties will be continued development and maintenance of the open digital twin platform (DTCC Platform). You are expected to take a leading role in the platform development, both taking on tasks assigned to you by the project management and driving the development forward by proposing and implementing new features, tools and methods.

What you need to thrive here
You have a genuine interest in helping society, a structured approach towards data mining, a solid SW development background, and broad experience in leveraging relevant tools and data models. We expect you to have very good knowledge in programming languages, in particular C++ and Python, data processing, algorithm development, and an interest in 3D city models and digital twins. You will be part of and contribute to building a strong international team in a creative environment in combination with genuine interest in solving complex research and innovation challenges, with a structured approach to application of innovative analytics tools and technologies together with your team.

  • Geodata and 3D GIS
  • Web technologies, micro-services and API development
  • Data visualization and storytelling
  • Agile development methodology and tools

What would be great if you also have

  • ML/Deep Learning toolkit, supervised and unsupervised learning
  • Project proposal writing

What you may have worked with previously
You have several years experience from roles such as software developer, Data Scientist, DevOps Engineer. You have a master/PHD degree in mathematics/statistics, applied physics or computer science.
